Comptroller's Name: David A. Von Moll
Comptroller Biography: Mr. Von Moll has served
in various positions in the Department of Accounts over the
past 22 years including State Payroll Operations Manager and
Manager of Disbursements Review and Assistance and prior to
that 8 years in compliance auditing with the Virginia
Department of Taxation. Mr. Von Moll holds a Bachelor's Degree
in accounting from Old Dominion University and a Master's
Degree in Business Administration from Virginia Commonwealth
University. He is a CPA, a member of the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and is a Certified
Government Financial Manager (CGFM). As State Comptroller, Mr.
Von Moll serves on numerous boards in addition to the Virginia
College Savings Plan including the Treasury Board, the Virginia
Public Building Authority, and the Virginia College Building
Authority.
Responsibilities: The Department, under the
direction of the State Comptroller, is responsible for:
providing a unified financial accounting and control system for
state funds; developing a comprehensive system of checks and
balances between state agencies entrusted with the collection,
receipt and disbursement of state revenues; and maintaining a
central accounting system for all state agencies and
institutions.
