Comptroller's Name: Brenda Bolander
Comptroller Biography: Brenda Bolander started
out at the Oklahoma State Auditor and Inspector's office. She
provided technical assistance here for 9 years. Some of her
other credits include comptroller of a small college, business
manager for one of the largest healthcare provider in the
state, and comptroller of a major state agency. She also led
the team that prepared the first State of Oklahoma
comprehensive annual financial report. She graduated from
Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and is also a Certified
Public Accountant.
Responsibilities: The State Comptroller in
Oklahoma directs the daily operations of the Division of
Central Accounting and Reporting. This, also called DCAR, helps
to establish policies and procedures of financial transactions
of the state. The comprtoller's office makes sure that they
agree with federal regulations and government standards. There
are also units that perform different tasks, such as
Transaction Processing Unit, (audits and processes payments),
and Financial Reporting Unit (prepares the Oklahoma financial
report).
