Comptroller's Name: Alex Sink
Comptroller Biography: Alex Sink is Florida's
Chief Financial Officer, serving her first term in this
position, and was elected in 2006. Coming from the business
world, Alex brings 26 years of financial experience during
which she held a leadership position in one of the largest
banks in Florida as well as other civic type work in the areas
of education and the environment. While attending Wake Forest
University, she obtained a mathematics degree. Married with a
son, she calls Thonotosassa her home. Since her election as CFO
she has become known for eliminating wasteful use of public
funds by the government, stopping the illegal financial
practices and holding the government to a high standard.
Responsibilities: Assist comsumers with
understanding insurance coverage, purchasing and filing
complaints. Helps Agents and Adjusters with lisensure and
compliance information. Provides informatoin to employers
regarding Workers' Compensation. Contains the Division of
Accounting and Auditing for vendors who provide business
services with the State of Florida.
