Comptroller's Name: Nancy Wyman

Comptroller Biography: Nancy Wyman holds the distinction of being the first woman elected to be the State Comptroller, and was first elected in 1994, and has been re-elected every four years since. Before starting her tenure as Comptroller, she served as a State Representative for the 53rd District where she served as the House Chairperson of the Education Committee and the Chairperson of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Elementary and Secondary Education.

Responsibilities: The Office of the State Comptroller is comprised of the following divisions: Retirement Services which deals with the State's pension system, Payroll Services which handles the pay checks of all State employees, Accounts Payable which makes all payments to the State's vendors, Budget and Financial Analysis which performs accounting and financial reporting functions, Information Technology which handles the office's IT infrastructure, and Fiscal Policy which determines the State's financial policies.
